Fault Finding & Diagnosis
With the passage of time the structural integrity
of drains can and does deteriorate. The structural integrity can
be affected in a number of ways. Ground movement can cause cracks
and fractures allowing the escape of water into the subsoil. This,
over time can wash away the pipe bed causing further damage and
at worst cause the pipe to collapse.
Another very common cause of structural damage is
root ingress into the pipe. Pipetek SL can carry out surveys of
pipes from 75mm to 1000mm. A video of the survey is presented to
the customer, along with a report. We will also recommend any remedial
work that may be required and supply a quotation. We are also able
to liaise with loss adjusters should there be an insurance claim
involved. For more information on CCTV Surveys please click the
link and email your enquiry.
Pre-Purchase House Surveys
When people purchase a house normally the mortgage
lender insists that a survey of the property be carried out. However
as they cannot survey the underground drains they cannot identify
any problems there may be.
Many people are not aware that responsibility for
their drains ends at the connection with the public sewer, wherever
it may be. Also, defective and leaking drains are a major source
of damp and can lead to subsidence in the building structure.
Imagine finding you have a problem with your drains
under the road or under the house. Imagine what it would cost to
replace these damaged pipes, probably thousands of Euros. For peace
of mind Pipetek SL strongly recommend that purchasers of property
should invest in a pre-purchase survey that consists of flow testing
using a coloured dye and if good access to the drainage system is
available, a CCTV survey can be carried out.
A video of the survey is presented to the customer,
along with a comprehensive report. We will also recommend any remedial
work that may be identified from the survey, and supply a quotation.
