| High-pressure Water Jetting
Most people do not give a thought to their drainage,
what happens when the toilet is flushed or where the fluids are
ending up. That is until they start to suffer problems such as a
blockage or smells. At some point all drains need to be cleaned.
Over a period of time deposits such as fat, grease, silt and scale
build up on the pipe wall, reducing the hydraulic efficiency of
the drain. In Spain, because of the dry conditions, roots from trees
and plants penetrate the drainage systems through open and displaced
joints. A single fibrous root can expand rapidly to take advantage
of the ‘nutritious’ fluids which in turn will lead to
a blockage in the pipe.
Further, the drainage systems in Spain are themselves
a cause of major problems just by design alone. Buried beneath most
properties are buried chambers, referred to as arkettes, that are
catch-pits allowing fluids to pool and stagnate. Quite often these
chambers are a direct source of rising damp within properties and
allow fluids to escape into the subsoil. They are also a major cause
of blockages in new and existing properties due to the amount of
silt and debris that builds up within them and the adjoining pipes.
The most effective way to rid the pipes and chambers of these deposits
is high pressure water jetting. Strong jets of water remove the
deposits from the pipe walls and from the buried chambers. The deposits
are flushed out of the pipe and the drain is returned to a free
flowing condition.
It doesn’t end there; using a hand held lance
we can remove graffiti, clean floors and cleaning the inside of
tanks. The versatility of high pressure water jetting is endless.
